Learn more about what we do

Intellectual Property

Intellectual property litigation includes litigation/trial legal counsel relating to patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. We represent the owners of the various forms of IP assets, to monetize those assets, police infringement of the assets, and defend against charges brought against our clients for alleged infringement of others' IP.

We have broad and deep experience across a range of industries including automotive, pharmaceutical, food, software, and retail consumer goods. Gary Hood has led cases in the busiest, most experienced patent courts in the nation, including the Districts of Delaware and New Jersey, the Eastern District of Texas, and the Northern District of Illinois.

In addition to patents, we have substantial experience representing brand/trademark owners. We have handled proceedings to obtain or defend against temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions, and stand ready to assist brand/trademark owners in monetizing their marks and ensuring that their brands are neither diluted nor infringed.

Finally, we also have significant experience assisting creators of original works in the areas of music, writing, photography, and other creative areas. And if trade secrets are at stake, we stand ready to ensure that valuable business information is protected.
